Understanding Zoe
Partnership
Cathartic Collaborations has chosen to partner with Understanding Zoe because they are directly addressing a gap we see in every day in practice: neurodivergent families receiving fragmented information, with little support in translating it into something usable in real life. Their app brings lived experience, professional insight, and practical strategies into one accessible place, which aligns closely with how I approach my work. I’m particularly drawn to their use of AI as a tool for accessibility — not as a replacement for care, but as a way to make support more immediate, personalised, and actionable for the people who need it.
What excites us most is the potential to combine relational depth with scalable, accessible support by bringing together therapeutic insight with AI-powered tools that can reach neurodivergent people in real time. Understanding Zoe is creating something that feels like a living, evolving support system rather than static information, and this collaboration opens up opportunities to contribute to that ecosystem in a way that is both human and innovative. There is real potential here to create ripple effects not just for individuals, but across families, services, and systems.
Understanding Zoe is a neuroaffirming AI-powered platform built to support neurodivergent children, adults, and their families by bridging the gap between diagnosis and daily life. Their mission is to make personalised, compassionate support accessible to every family, no matter where they are in their journey. Research with 1,091 Australian families found that caregivers spend an average of 33 hours per week on neurodivergent-related care tasks, and 9 in 10 feel invisible in the systems meant to support them. Understanding Zoe exists to change that.
Kaboose
Collaboration
Cathartic Collaborations chose to collaborate with Kaboose because their NeuroNuggets align closely with our commitment to making neuroaffirming knowledge, resources, and support more accessible. For many neurodivergent people, families, and professionals, searching for genuinely affirming information can feel overwhelming, especially when so much content is still deficit-based, pathologising, or disconnected from lived experience. NeuroNuggets offer a more accessible pathway: bite-sized recommendations that help people discover neuroaffirming tools, ideas, and resources.
Caitlin teaches about topics such as burnout, neuroinclusion, and neurodivergent communication. These topics sit beautifully alongside Kaboose’s focus on connection, accessibility, and practical support, because they all speak to the same bigger vision: helping neurodivergent people and those around them better understand their needs, reduce shame, strengthen communication, and create environments where people are not simply expected to cope, but are genuinely supported to flourish.
What excites us most about this collaboration is the opportunity to be part of a broader neuroaffirming ecosystem where trusted resources are easier to access and where neurodivergent people are met with understanding, respect, and possibility.
